Our Favorite Weekend Trips Part 1

Every once in the while it’s fun to take a long weekend away from the city as an Atlanta Wedding Planner.

The great thing about living in Georgia is that there are so many romantic destinations within a few hours drive in every direction. We have so many favorite areas to visit and couldn’t wait to inspire your next trip.

30A

Why we love it – It’s minimal and modern beachy touches, to get to most places you can simply walk, bike or take a golf cart.

Our favorite areas include Alys Beach, Rosemary, Seaside & Watercolor. Be sure to explore them all!

Accommodations – we recommend renting a house or staying at the Pearl Rosemary Beach.

Activities – Bike rides, beach, pool, shopping

Dining Spots – The Donut Hole is a bakery and diner rolled into one. Not only do they have amazing donuts but they also serve breakfast, lunch & dinner. Black Bear Coffee Co. is another great spot for coffee and bakery items. Be sure to check out the seaside food trucks like the Meltdown on 30A, their grilled cheese is delish! Some other great dives include Tommy Bahama, Bud & Alleys, Shunk Gully’s Oyster Bar, Chiringo’s, Cowgirl Kitchen & Surfing Deer.

Charleston

Why we love it – one of our favorite southern cities. It’s ritzy yet laid back feel draws you in. You instantly feel at home and can walk pretty much everywhere in town. Not too much hustle and bustle, much more low key city that’s great for tourists, you can even stroll the streets safely at night.

Accommodations – rent a house or stay at the new Dewberry Hotel

Activities – Middleton Place, Fort Sumter, Historic Walking Tour, Charleston City Market, Folly Beach.

Dining Spots – Halls Chophouse, The Darling Oyster Bar, Cannon Green, Boxcar Betty’s, Poogan’s Porch, Taco Boy, Home Team BBQ.

Why we love it? – Feels a little more rural compared to other beach towns. The Ritz is such a romantic property that goes above and beyond for all of their guests. They have an amazing spa onsite, one of our favorites actually!

Accommodations – Ritz Carlton

Activities – beach, pool, firepits w/ smore’s, taking ferry to Cumberland Island to see wild horses, golf, spa at Ritz.
