Our Favorite Weekend Trips Part 2

We are taking you to the mountains for our second installment of our favorite weekend trips for Atlanta locals. As a wedding planner in Atlanta we travel quite often to celebrate our couples and that has allowed us to get to know the areas we’ve featured below. These are some of the most romantic spots within a few hours of the city.

Why we love it ? – Beautiful views of the Appalachian Mountains and amazing spot for antique shopping. Great spot for a slower more laid back weekend trip.

Accommodations – Old Edwards Inn & Spa

Activities – Hiking the surrounding mountain paths and falls. The Bascom, Art Galleries, Shopping,

Dining Spots – Madison’s Restaurant, Wolfgang’s Restaurant & Wine Bistro, Wild Thyme Gourmet, Highlands Smokehouse, Bridge at Mill Creek, On the Verandah.

 Why we love it? –  As a wedding planner in Atlanta we love this amazingly vibrant art scene and historic architecture.

Accommodations – The Inn on Biltmore Estate, Grove Park Inn

Activities – Biltmore Estate, Ziplining, Basilica of St. Lawrence, Grovewood Village, Asheville Art Museum, Asheville Museum of Science, Shopping.

Dining Spots – Posana, Limones, Asheville Sandwich Company, Tupelo Honey, Chestnut, Jargon, Bouchon, Sunset Terrace at the Grove Park Inn.

The Inn at Serenbe

 Why we love it? – Really great couples packages that offer a little bit of everything. Such a quaint community that makes you feel like you are worlds away from the city even though it’s closer to Atlanta. We love using our golf cart after check in to explore!

Activities – Relax by the pool, Yoga, Serenbe Spa, Afternoon Tea, Trail Rides, Bonfire w/ S’mores, feeding and meeting the animals that live onsite.

Why we love it? – Warm and inviting atmosphere. Gorgeous lake views that can be taken in from anywhere on property.

Activities – Kayaking, boating, bonfires, golf, relax by the pool.

Dining – Georgia’s, Linger Longer Steakhouse, Gaby’s By the Lake, Barrel Room, The Coffee Shop & a unique Chiminea Dining Experience for couples.
