Top Things You Have To Do At The Dewberry Hotel In Charleston

As destination wedding planners we experience all types of properties and resorts each year. Whether we are on a scouting trip with clients, or are invited out to properties, we love sharing our travel knowledge. We thoroughly enjoyed our recent return trip to the Dewberry Hotel.  There are quite a few amenities that make this property special that you will want to take advantage of next time you are in town.

The Lowdown on the Property

Inside and out, The Dewberry is a manifestation of founder John Dewberry’s vision of “Southern Reimagined.” As much a setting as it is a state of mind, the hotel was brought to life over eight years by a team of architects and designers who shared Dewberry’s mission to present Charleston from a uniquely personal perspective. The result is a thoughtfully imagined juxtaposition of past and present that redefines what is possible when historic preservation is paramount.

Take Advantage of Transportation

The Dewberry Hotel offers complimentary town car services & bicycles for guests. This makes it really simple to check out all of the local sites and scenery. Taking an early bike ride after your morning coffee is sure to leave you feeling relaxed and renewed. Or have the Volvo luxury house cars take you to some of the best shopping in the southeast.

Visit the Rooftop Cocktail Lounge or Mingle In the Living Room

The Citrus Club and The Living Room at both staples at the Dewberry Hotel. The Citrus Club features the highest rooftop in Charleston that offers citrus inspired cocktails and fresh lite bites. Its a great spot for date night or for girls night. The night we visited I ordered the Mai Tai which was tangy and really refreshing.

The Living Room is a warm and welcoming space for morning coffee or afternoon cocktails. Every detail–right down to the wooden bowls hand-crafted by local artist Hugh Jeffers from the knots of a 150-year-old white oak tree that once stood nearby–echoes The Dewberry’s rich history.

Experience Elements Of The Low Country

The spa at the Dewberry Hotel curates each guests signature treatment to include a luxurious blend of antioxidants, sea extracts and botanicals that nourish the mind, body and spirit. Our massage treatments were so enjoyable that we can’t wait for a return trip later this year. Do yourself a big favor and buy the signature Dewberry candle before you leave!
